After a very productive and incredibly fun trip to Uganda I am now back in Bassam for about a week. Adou and I had the best time in Uganda. We made new friends and saw some old ones. It was so good to be there. The trip was planned prior to the attacks here and by the time it came to go I felt like all was good here. I left on my terms. Period.
Being able to go to East Africa from West Africa and then back here has been an amazing opportunity to better understand the diversity that is Africa. At the end of the day it really makes me wonder if there is such a thing called Africa. So, totally different and yet things are similar. It has scrambled my head but definitely in a good way. The people, geography, culture, weather, and beyond are all ridiculously different. It's hard to comprehend. Africa is not what is projected in the west. That I know.
