I had a great weekend. Friday night the kids stayed over night and we woke up and went to a new pool on the lagoon. I had a blast and then met them later at the beach by the place where their Aunt and others live. I surfed while they played on the beach. They had fun watching me take some sweet wipeouts. Building a better me, one wipeout at a time.
Saturday night I met Adou and Ouzman in town at the local place I hung out at a while back (see video with chickens and flies). She made us an amazing poulet braisé and then we walked to the university to see the student's African dance party. Lots of fun to see that and to see the students I know, which is now quite a few. Ouzman stayed the night and we woke up and went to the beach. We went to one of the local spots, where the people from the village hang out (ha), and Adou met us later. We had an awesome day. We surfed, relaxed, ate some great chicken and fish and drank some sprite and other cold ones. The place is very basic but they have not nice shade made from coconut trees and the food is cooked by Veronique's family in the back. I saw Veronique but not the kids...she was working. The food was phenomenal and the fish was just caught and really tasty. The waves were a bit large yesterday so I went to sleep with a strong rocking motion. C'est la vie.
