Well, I have made some good progress and will be moving into my appartment on Saturday and my office on Monday. My appartment is in the French Quarter and the pic above is from the front at the top of my stairs. The French Quarter is, as you can see, very old and very colonial. I will be posting more pics to show the amazing structures that are here. It is unlike any place I have been before and the vibe is low key which I like a lot. I'm excited to get moved into my place and meet more Ivorians and French ex-pats around the hood.
Of course, without an office at home or school means I have had to improvise so I have been "working" at a cafe on the beach. The pic above shows my set up and it's a great spot. Today, the waves were small and surfable, but generally the surfing beach is about 15 minutes east in a small fishing village where the break is much slower. Still, it's a great place to set up and get things done over a cafe au lait or two. Other than that, I'm just busy settling into this dusty, poor, west African country they call la cote d'ivoire. Au revoir.
